Our sections

Young people move up through the sections as they grow, each one a little more adventurous than the last. All sections meet at the scout hut during term time.

Beavers

Ages 6 – 8

Our youngest section. Beavers make friends, play games, get messy with crafts and take their very first steps outdoors — den building, nature walks and camp fires.

  • Games & crafts
  • First nights away
  • Nature and the outdoors
Cubs

Ages 8 – 10½

Cubs is where the adventure steps up. Hikes, cooking on fires, pioneering, badge work and camps across Yorkshire — with plenty of noise and laughter along the way.

  • Badge work
  • Cooking outdoors
Scouts

Ages 10½ – 14

Scouts take the lead. Expeditions, climbing, kayaking, backwoods cooking and community projects — young people planning and running their own adventures.

  • Water & climbing activities
  • Leadership & teamwork

Our hut & field

Our green timber hut sits right on the edge of its own grass field — room for wide games, camp fires, pioneering projects and flag break every week. Inside there is a big main hall, a kitchen and stores full of tents and kit.

The hut is kept going by volunteers. If you can spare an evening a week, or a few hours for maintenance and fundraising, we would love to hear from you — no scouting experience needed.
